I fatti, su cui indaga la Direzione distrettuale Antimafia di Potenza, si sono svolti in provincia di Salerno nel novembre 2023.Un uomo è finito in carcere: si tratta di Fedele Marotta, 42enne originario di Polla, indagato, insieme ad altri soggetti sia noti che in via di identificazione, per estorsione aggravata, simulazione di reato e calunnia.Nei suoi confronti il gip del tribunale di Potenza ha emesso un'ordinanza applicativa di misura cautelare che è stata eseguita dai carabinieri del nucleo investigativo di Salerno. L'obiettivo del finto sequestro di persona era quello di ottenere soldi dal cognato di Marotta, imprenditore residente in provincia di Parma e marito della sorella dell'indagato.IL PIANOIl piano ha previsto che nel giorno del presunto rapimento a scopo di estorsione, Marotta avrebbe simulato di essere in procinto di incontrare, a Padula, dei soggetti collegati al clan dei Casalesi che lui stesso - come raccontava alla sorella nel corso di una telefonata - intendeva dissuadere dal proposito di sequestrare i figli della donna. Poi, in una telefonata immediatamente successiva, al momento del simulato incontro con i presunti malfattori, richiedeva alla sorella, con toni preoccupati, di allertare le forze dell'ordine perché temeva che potesse succedergli qualcosa di grave.Successivamente, gli indagati avrebbero simulato le tracce del sequestro di persona di Marotta, lasciando la sua auto abbandonata in aperta campagna, con i fari accesi e i cellulari nell'abitacolo.
