(Adnkronos) - Oltre un milione di tonnellate di prodotti surgelati consumati nel 2023 (1.016.358), con una lieve crescita a volume rispetto al 2022 (+0,14%) e un nuovo massimo storico di consumo pro capite annuo che, per la prima volta, supera la barriera dei 17 chili, attestandosi a 17,2 (+2,4% vs. il 2022), per un valore di mercato pari ai 5,8 miliardi di euro, in crescita rispetto agli oltre 5,4 miliardi dell'anno precedente (+6,5%). Sono questi i numeri che, nel 2023, hanno spinto il comparto dei surgelati a raggiungere vette mai toccate prima, trainato dal Fuoricasa, che ha registrato una crescita del +5,3% rispetto all'anno precedente, compensando sia la piccola diminuzione del Retail (-1,1%) sia quelle, più significative, del door-to-door (-8%) e dell'e-commerce (-5%). È quanto emerge dal "Rapporto Annuale sui Consumi dei prodotti surgelati”, realizzato da Iias - Istituto Italiano Alimenti Surgelati, per fotografare l'andamento del comparto in Italia nell'ultimo anno. Inoltre, il report segnala un aumento nei consumi domestici di quasi dieci punti percentuali (+9,4%) rispetto ai livelli pre-pandemici (2019). Scendendo nel dettaglio dell'analisi delle singole categorie merceologiche, anche nel 2023 si conferma la leadership per volumi consumati nel Retail, dei vegetali, con oltre 215.000 tonnellate (nonostante una lieve diminuzione rispetto al 2022 del-1,9%). I vegetali preparati (con 22.380 tonnellate) registrano invece una performance pienamente positiva, conquistando un +3,7% vs. il 2022 e ribadendo, ancora una volta, il ruolo dei vegetali surgelati come 'comfort food', scelti per la loro capacità di soddisfare la richiesta di benessere e di elevati contenuti nutrizionali che da sempre li accompagnano.Le patate surgelate si collocano al secondo posto tra le preferenze degli italiani. Nel 2023, le patate hanno registrato la performance più positiva del comparto, con circa 110.500 tonnellate acquistate e una crescita del +8% vs. 2022 (102.400 tonnellate). Sicuri, nutrienti e facili da preparare, i prodotti ittici surgelati conquistano il terzo posto del podio, toccando le 92.500 tonnellate, tra ittico preparato panato (oltre 33.000 tonnellate) e pesce naturale (59.000). Seguono, al quarto posto in classifica, i piatti pronti, ossia primi e secondi piatti, contorni ricettati e alimenti con proteine vegetali, che si attestano su oltre 66.600 tonnellate (registrando un lieve calo del -1,1% rispetto alle quasi 67.500 tonnellate del 2022). L'alta qualità degli ingredienti, le ricettazioni sia tradizionali sia innovative, la velocità di preparazione e l'attenzione all'equilibrio nutrizionale si confermano i fattori chiave del loro successo tra le famiglie italiane.Da non dimenticare, infine, sono le specialità salate (pancake e altri prodotti), che hanno mantenuto quota 33.300 tonnellate (con una lieve diminuzione dello 0,5% rispetto alle 33.400 tonnellate del 2022) e le carni surgelate, con 15.700 tonnellate nel 2023 (-3% vs. 2022).
