coordinamento della Procura della Repubblica di Reggio Calabria - Direzione Distrettuale Antimafia, diretta da Giovanni Bombardieri, stanno dando esecuzione ad un provvedimento, emesso dal locale Tribunale, che dispone l'applicazione della misura di prevenzione patrimoniale della confisca di beni - per un valore complessivamente stimato in circa 700 mila euro - riconducibili ad un imprenditore reggino, con radicati interessi nel centro Italia, operante nel settore dei giochi e delle scommesse.La figura criminale dell'imprenditore era emersa nell'ambito dell'operazione "Galassia", condotta dal Nucleo di Polizia Economico Finanziaria di Reggio Calabria, con il supporto dello S. C.I.C.O., che ha sgominato un sofisticato ed altamente remunerativo sistema criminale, finalizzato all'illecita raccolta di scommesse on-line, attraverso importanti bookmakers esteri aventi sede in Austria e Malta, che avrebbero operato in rapporto sinallagmatico con la 'ndrangheta.In particolare, secondo quanto emerso dalle indagini - allo stato del procedimento e fatte salve successive valutazioni in merito all'effettivo e definitivo accertamento della responsabilità - l'organizzazione criminale avrebbe offerto una sorta di "protezione ambientale" all'impresa di gaming, consentendo l'espansione sul territorio di punti di distribuzione e garantendo, con l'intimidazione, il recupero dei crediti di gioco.
